Worker shot dead during robbery at construction site in Houston

A construction worker was shot dead and possibly robbed at a home construction site in Houston, according to Harris County officials.

Police said two males approached the construction supervisor and may have been targeted the worker, as there have been other reports of workers in the area being robbed. Click 2 Houston reported.

The shooting was reported around noon on home construction site located at Pueblito Verde Way, near Channelview Independent School District’s two campuses, Alice Johnson Jr. High and McMullan Elementary.

A spokesperson for the district said the 2 schools were on lockdown for roughly ten minutes due to the situation, but the lockdown has since been lifted.

Officers said they were searching for two men in a silver Dodge van. The vehicle was found around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, but the suspects remained on the run.

One man was described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and has a medium build, wearing a green shirt with dark pants and a dark cap and mask.

The second man is described as either a black or Hispanic man with a medium build, wearing a blue shirt and mask.
