The hackers attacked the Bank of France to steal private information and credentials from bank customers and French companies.
According to the American Banker, customers of the Bank of France, have been receiving suspicious emails with reports of bank accounts being frozen and granted loans to trick them into handing over account numbers, credentials and other sensitive information.
The cyber criminals were running the phishing attack and used Bank of France’s name, logo, and also email addresses and phone numbers to make their fake emails that are similar to the bank. The fake emails redirect users to a malicious website asking to download malicious files and input their bank information.
The bank warned customers against inputting private information online or giving it over the phone.
