A driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI crash in Beverly Hills that left two women dead, and four others hurt. According to Beverly Hills Police.
Beverly Hills Police responded to the solo-vehicle crash shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the area of Little Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards. The driver of the BMW was believed to have lost control before striking a curb and then a tree. ABC7 reported.
Some of the passengers were ejected from the car, and one was pronounced dead at the scene. 5 others were transported to a hospital with injuries ranging from minor to critical. One of those passengers later died from her injuries, according to police.
All 6 people in the car were identified as women in their 20s. Authorities said they believe some of the victims were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Beverly Hills detectives said DUI and speed are believed to be a factor in the collision, and the driver has been arrested. Investigators were also looking into whether the BMW was equipped to carry 6 passengers.
“This is a very unfortunate, and very tragic accident,” said Lt. Renato Moreno. “As a police, our hearts go out to the victims and their families, their extended family, and we hope there are education efforts of the don’t drink and drive a message that we often give.”

The name of the suspected DUI crash driver has not been released.
Little Santa Monica Street was closed as crews cleared the scene. It was later reopened.
